The Yarmouth Mariners dropped two of three on their New Brunswick road-trip.
It began last Thursday with a 4-0 loss in Edmundston, but the Mariners followed up with a big 4-1 victory Friday night in Grand Falls.
They finished Saturday with a 5-3 loss in Fredericton.
A win Saturday would have clinched a playoff spot for the defending champions.
The Mariners can still book their ticket to the postseason this week.
It will happen if Truro loses in regulation Wednesday to West Kent.
Yarmouth has two games left in the regular season, they are home to the Bearcats this Friday and in Amherst on Saturday.
The Mariners sit a point ahead of the Ramblers in second place in the Eastlink South Division.
