Update: RCMP say the child they were seeking information about is safe.
Police responded to a report of a lone child wandering in Lower Sackville Saturday at about 10:30 a.m.
Witnesses reported that the child was about eight or nine years old and only had one shoe on.
They were last seen at 10:23 a.m. leaving Sobeys then walking towards Downsview Drive.
Officers made extensive patrols and inquires throughout the day but were unable to locate the child.
The Mounties issued an update Saturday night that the child had been identified and was found safe.
