Report heavy rainfall damage to the province

By Brad Perry Mar 1, 2024 | 12:35 PM

New Brunswickers impacted by this week’s heavy rainfall can now register their damages with the province.

Reporting damage is a key part of the provincial damage assessment and recovery process, the province said in a news release on Friday.

“This reporting process is essential to determining if the criteria for a Disaster Financial Assistance program has been met,” said the release.

Damage can be registered online through Service New Brunswick or by calling 1-888-298-8555.

The Service New Brunswick Teleservices line is open between 8 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

Residents are also reminded to take photos of any damage and report it to their insurance companies immediately.

You should also keep receipts of any repairs and replacement purchases, and log the number of hours of work you or family members have undertaken to clean your property.

The deadline to register any damages is May 29.
