OPP re-arrest 12 for outstanding warrants

Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a dozen people wanted on outstanding warrants in the Fort Frances area.

Two of the individuals remain in custody pending a bail hearing.

Their arrests this week were conducted as part of the Offender Management and Apprehension Program, a crime suppression program designed to deter the criminal activities of repeat offenders.

It focuses police attention on offenders considered to be high-risk and often involved in repeat criminal behaviour.

Police say the local initiative focused on individuals with arrest warrants related to outstanding charges ranging from violent offences to drug, property and bail violations.

Individual #1

•            Cruelty to animals – unnecessary pain, suffering or injury

•            Assault with A Weapon

•            Criminal Harassment – repeatedly communicate

•            Perjury

Individual #2

•            Assault – Spousal X2

Individual # 3

•            Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence

•            Theft Over $5000

•            Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin) X2

Individual #4

•            Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration

•            Fail to Appear/Comply with Appearance Notice, Promise to Appear, or Recognizance

•            Dangerous operation

•            Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs

•            Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs X2

Individual #5

•            Assault with A Weapon X3

Individual #6

•            Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Individual #7

•            Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Individual #8

•            Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

•            Failure to comply with undertaking

•            Assault with a Weapon – Spousal X2

•            Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2

•            Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

Individual #9

•            Sexual Assault X2

Individual #10

•            Assault – Spousal X2

•            Failure to comply with undertaking

•            Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

•            Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal

•            Failure to attend court after having appeared X3

•            Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence

Individual #11

•            Assault

•            Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Individual #12

•            Unlawfully in Dwelling House

•            Resist Peace Officer

•            Assault a Peace Officer

OPP involved their Community Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team in making the arrests.
