Nova Scotia Power continue to restore power to thousands after braving the wind and rain.
According to Nova Scotia power, outages remain scattered all over the province, but thousands already have the lights back on.
Some schools are closed today due to power outages or a risk of flash freezing and reduced visibility because of snow.
There are also cancellations and delays at the Halifax Stanfield – so check your flight status before heading to the airport.
Halifax Transit suspended ferry service for a while Thursday morning, but ferries have resumed.
Meanwhile rainfall and wind warnings continue for the province Thursday.
Environment Canada also says temperatures are expected to drop rapidly today, which could cause slippery conditions.
