City Police have identified a youth in the United States as the suspect in a threat incident targeting St. Patrick’s High School this week.

Officers responded to the school on Tuesday morning after the threat was received.

The school was evacuated, and a search did not result in any evidence to substantiate the threat.

The resulting investigation led to the identification of a person of interest living in New Jersey.

With assistance from law enforcement in that state, a Thunder Bay police officer was able to speak to the individual and their family.

The individual admitted to making the threat but did not have any intention to act on it.
