Drug raid leads to multiple arrests

Numerous individuals have been arrested and charged following a search warrant execution in Kenora.

On Friday, just before midnight, members of the Ontario Provincial Police, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Community Street Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team, and Canine Unit, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Minto Avenue.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of six individuals and the seizure of illicit substances valued at approximately $14,600 including suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and hydromorphone.

Canadian currency, edged weapons, and other items associated with drug trafficking were also seized.

As a result, a 35-years-old Kenora resident has been arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid – two counts
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

A 45-years-old Rat Portage First Nation resident has been arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of an Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order – two counts

A 27-years-old Kenora resident has been arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

A 27-years-old Kenora resident has been arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid

A 20-years-old Rat Portage First Nation resident has been arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

A 25-years-old Kenora resident has been arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid

One of the 27-year-olds, the 35-year-old, and the 45-year-old are being held in custody.

The other 27-year-old, the 20-year-old, and the 25-year-old have been released from custody.

All accused are scheduled to appear before the court in Kenora at a later date.
