Let the games begin, athletes from across the province have arrived for the Ontario Winter Games taking place this weekend and next.
Media coordinator Jason Veltri says the excitement from both the organizational committee and athletes perspective is palpable and it is Thunder Bay’s time to shine.
“With COVID the games were postponed and moved and there’s a back-to-back year now. So we know this has been a long awaited opportunity for our community to showcase the best of what it offers.”
Events have already gotten underway in advance of the opening ceremonies which will take place this afternoon at the Fort William Historical Park.
