5 arrested in southside drug raid

5 people, including three southern Ontario residents, have been arrested and face charges after a search warrant was executed at a home on the city’s south side.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service executed the warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Norah Street North in the early afternoon on Wednesday.

The warrant was obtained as a result of an investigation into suspected drug trafficking at that address.

Quantities of suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other drugs were located along with Canadian currency, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

An 18-year-old Brantford resident, a 23-year-old Hamilton resident, a 17-year-old youth from Niagara, a 65-year-old  Thunder Bay resident and a 54-year-old Thunder Bay resident have been charged with:

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Oxycodone
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.

The 54-year-old Thunder Bay resident also faces a charge of Breach of an Undertaking.

The accused have been remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
