Port Hawkesbury town staff ready for more snow

By Kevin Northup Feb 14, 2024 | 5:28 AM

Port Hawkesbury’s mayor says they’re ready for more snow.

The town got around 100 centimetres earlier this month

Brenda Chisholm-Beaton says snow removal from that storm has been completed.

“Which includes snow removal from sidewalks and pushing back as much snow as possible from the curbs on streets throughout the town,” said the mayor.

She adds they’re ready to go for this storm, which could drop another 30 centimetres on the town.

Chisholm-Beaton says all municipalities across Cape Breton have been working hard.

“We’re very fortunate to have great folks in leadership positions when we have heavy snowfall or any incremental weather during any season.”

She says there may still be fatigue from the last storm, but staff are ready to go.
