Horizon makes booking X-ray appointments easier

By Regis Phillips Feb 13, 2024 | 6:57 AM

Horizon Health is expanding its new self-booking service for X-ray appointments to The Moncton Hospital and the Sackville Memorial Hospital.

Patients with an X-ray referral can now book their appointment online through the health authority’s website.

You will need to confirm you have an X-Ray referral, or that it has been faxed to the hospital’s Medical Imaging department.

Healthcare providers may also use this tool to book their patients appointments on their behalf.

Patients can still call in to book an appointment if they do not have access to an online device.

Officials hope the tool will help reduce the number of missed appointments and improve the overall patient experience.

Horizon said the self-booking service launched as a pilot in the Saint John area and then expanded to the Miramichi Regional Hospital. It will soon be available in the Fredericton area.

Officials also said the new self-booking tool has successfully processed more than 5,000 X-ray appointments.
