One individual with a suspended license is facing stunt driving and impaired charges following a traffic stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police.

Just before midnight on Saturday police initiated a traffic stop on a passenger pick-up truck driving 161 kilometers per hour on Highway 11/17 in Thunder Bay.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol, and was driving with a suspended license.

The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Thunder Bay OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, a 32-years-old Rosslyn resident has been arrested and charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
  • Driving While Under Suspension
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order – two counts

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on April 2, 2024.
