A staff member from a Halifax pub has what are believed to be serious injuries after an assault with a customer.

Halifax police say it was Saturday night when the suspect was removed from the Economy Shoe Shop because of how intoxicated he was.

Once outside, he assaulted the staff member, who then hit their head on a metal post and was taken to hospital.

The 20-year-old suspect has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and is scheduled to be in court at a later date.
