The mayor of Cape Breton Regional Municipality, Amanda McDougall says she is so ‘incredibly grateful’ for the men and women who jumped into action when they need them, following last weekend’s massive snowstorm.
Snowfall totals between 100 and 150 cm fell in northeastern Nova Scotia, putting Cape Breton Regional Municipality in a state-of-emergency and many residents stranded.
On social media, McDougall shares pictures of the Incident Command Centre at the Hampton Inn in Membertou, Monday morning.
She says it’s her honor to thank the local heroes, and men and women who came from all over the country, some as far as British Columbia.
A state of emergency ended for the area, Sunday afternoon.
