The Municipality of Yarmouth is looking to sell a historic landmark.
It’s the Port Maitland Fog Alarm Building on Shore Road.
The municipality says they’d like to sell it below market value to a non-profit organization.
They’ve got a call for expressions out to those groups.
The successful bidder would have to maintain the cultural significance of the structure, and use it to benefit local residents.
It was built in 1964 by contractors from Saint John.
The building was once owned by the federal government, but was divested to the municipality in 2010.
Recent repairs have been made, and the building is getting a new roof in the spring.
The deadline for submissions is Friday.
