Ontario Provincial Police have charged a Pikangikum man following a weekend collision on Highway 105.

On Sunday officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision around 5 a.m. near Trail Lake, 36 km north of Vermilion Bay, which thankfully resulted in no injuries.

An investigation revealed the 25 year old driver had been impaired by alcohol and was placed under arrest and taken to the Dryden detachment for further testing.

The accused faces the charges of:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

He has since been released from custody and will appear in court in April.
