Halifax police say 38-year-old Harvey Joseph Venus has been released into the Halifax region after being in custody for breaching a long-term supervision order.
Venus has multiple criminal offences including sexual assault (x2), assault causing bodily harm, assault, and sexual interference of a person under 16-years-old.
Police say Venus must abide by various rules including not being around anyone under 18 years of age, or anywhere where minors might be including daycares, playgrounds and elementary schools.
Police warn of any vigilante activity, saying the alert is to notify the public.
Citizens are asked to call police at 902-490-5020 if they believe Venus is violating his release conditions.
