The new Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton CEO will officially move into her new role on March 11.
Nadine Fullarton has more than sixteen years of experience in the non-profit industry association sector, according to a news release from the chamber.
Her previous positions include president of the Construction Association of New Brunswick – Moncton Northeast and the Mechanical Contractors Association of New Brunswick, where she represented 400 employer-based members for the past seven years.
She has also served as the executive director of the New Brunswick Association of Consulting Engineering Companies and the Newfoundland Association of Consulting Engineering Companies.
“Seeing what the chamber has been able to accomplish in the last couple of years in the work that John Wishart and his team have been able to do, to elevate the voice of the business community intrigued me,” says Fullarton. “A lot of the issues that they were working on were really in line with sort of the areas of interest that I’m looking to have an impact.”
Current President and CEO John Wishart will retire in February after 8 years with the Chamber.
Fullarton says one of the first things she wants to do in her new role, is to get to know the team better, “A lot of the files that are being worked on right now are definitely in line with something that I would like to continue pushing forward. Particularly, when it comes to labour force recruitment and retention of a healthy strong workforce in the region, and continuing to push for healthy, sustainable communities at all levels.”

Fullarton adds within the first year the Chamber will be embarking on a new strategic plan and she is excited about that.
“We’ll assess where we are on some of our policy files and see where there’s room for further advancement or where we need to pivot, considering the ever-changing business climate in the community.”
