The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is currently dealing with 5 respiratory outbreaks, and 3 are not COVID-19 related.

The Walford is dealing with an Influenza A outbreak, but it is unclear if it is isolated to a specific area of the facility or if it is facility-wide.

The Long Term Care section of the Geraldton District Hospital is dealing with a Human Metapneumovirus outbreak, and Southbridge Roseview is dealing with an unidentified respiratory virus in the Heritage Home Area.

There are three active COVID-19 outbreaks in the district, one on the first floor of Southbridge Pinewood, and two at St Joseph’s Hospital with outbreaks in the 2 South – Medically Complex Services area, and 3 North – Rehabilitative Care Services and 3 South Rehabilitative Care Service areas.

Outbreaks are declared at a facility when there is a higher-than-average rate of respiratory symptoms among the residents.
