According to the party, many of the applications to the Community Food Access and Literacy (CFAL) program were from schools.
Leader Claudia Chender says her party will continue to fight for a universal school food program and the spike in requests for government grants shows people are feeling the pressure.

According to the party, the grant has $100,000 available to fund these programs.
