A hate motivated assault on Sackville Drive.

It happened Wednesday night outside a restaurant, after 2 men got into a verbal dispute.

Halifax RCMP say one man said racial slurs and assaulted the other with a sensory irritant before fleeing.

The victim, a 30-year old from Lower Sackville suffered minor injuries.

A 31-year old was later arrested at the Halifax Transit terminal on Cobequid Road.

He was taken into custody and will be back in court next month.
