Halifax is getting ready for the Juno Awards this spring.
The show celebrating the best music in Canada will be at Scotiabank Centre on March 24th.
Paul MacKinnon, CEO of the Downtown Halifax Business Commission says the city is always a great host.
“We always build a whole community piece around it. So even if you’re not going to the awards show, you can still come down and experience the flavour of the Junos,” said MacKinnon.
There will be a stage on the waterfront, and live performances throughout the downtown.
MacKinnon says the economic impact will be huge for businesses like hotels and restaurants.
‘We’ll have many from Atlantic Canada and beyond. It’s great for local tourism, businesses, and music lovers.”
He says events during winter and spring months, like the World Juniors and Memorial Cup, have been popular in recent years.
