Man stabbed during attempted vehicle theft in downtown Halifax

A stabbing in downtown Halifax around 11:30pm Sunday night has police looking for the suspect.

Police say it was in the area of South Park and Clyde Streets, when a man tried to steal a vehicle parked in that location.

When the owner confronted him, the suspect cut him with a knife before running away.

The victim was taken to hospital for his injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20’s or 30’s, 5’7, with stocky build, dark hair, wearing jeans, a light blue-green hooded sweatshirt with a black mask and black backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
