Police in Newfoundland say there is no risk to public safety in connection with a bomb threat at St.  John’s International Airport.

On social media this morning, the airport said it had received a bomb threat.

Flight operations were paused, and people were asked to stay away from the terminal building.

In an update at about 10:30 a.m., the airport said, “The RNC, Transport Canada Security and St. John’s International Airport Security have deemed a bomb threat received this morning as a non-credible threat.”

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says their investigation continues into the source of the threat.

The St. John’s Airport terminal has since reopened to the public.
