If you love burgers, you’ll probably be eating out a lot over the next month.

There’s a record number to choose from during Burger Fest that runs until January 28th.

“Essentially it’s about restaurant owners getting together and creating an awesome chance to try these amazing burgers. They only are featured on the menus during the festival. So it’s your chance to try these awesome creations for a couple of weeks before they go away forever,” says Moncton Burger Fest Founder Chad Steeves.

There are 54 different burgers to choose from this year, that’s the most ever.

“We have a lot of returnees every year, but we also have a lot of new ones,” Steeves adds.

Those who participate in Burger Fest each year often set a goal to try seven, ten, or even more of the burgers before January 28th.

“They do burger crawls, or there go out with a couple of friends and split a burger, and they’ll go to a bunch of different locations in one night which is awesome,” Steeves says.

January is one of the slowest times of the year for restaurants, and Steeves says this is just a way of getting people up off the couch after Christmas.

“This is just about boosting an economy that usually struggles this time of year. It’s about having fun and getting Monctonians or tourists into the city to enjoy the culinary culture of Moncton.”

A burger map with all of the locations can be found at all of the participating restaurants.

“You can cross off all the restaurants or circle the ones you want to try. Last year, a couple of the restaurants sold over 3000 Burgers. That’s a lot of burgers,” Steeves adds.
