A windy, wet day is ahead.
Rainfall and wind warnings continue for the entire province.
Environment Canada says between 30 and 50mm could fall and winds could gust up to 100 km/h.
The forecaster says the system is spreading from west to east beginning in the southwest and reaching Cape Breton Island by this afternoon.
As well, Les Suêtes wind and winter storm warnings are in effect for Inverness County.
Environment Canada warns about possible power outages and water pooling on roads.
Power
As of 8am Nova Scotia Power was activating their Emergency Operations Centre.
There are already about 1,400 customers without power this morning in the province, nearly 1,000 are in the Cape Breton Highlands.
Expect travel disruptions due to the nasty weather.

Bay Ferries Limited has cancelled some sailings.
Wednesday’s 4 p.m. Digby departure is off as is Thursday’ 9 a.m. sailing from Saint John, NB.
The company’s website says ferry service will resume with Thursday’s 4 p.m. Digby departure.
Marine Atlantic also cancelled today’s Newfoundland ferry.
The Confederation Bridge is also closed to all traffic until the current weather changes.
