It’s going to cost more to get water delivery in the city, but not as much as was recommended.
City administration had suggested a 300 percent increase so the Sewer and Water utility wouldn’t be subsidizing the service as much.
But mayor Andrew Poirier calls the increase outrageous and has instead proposed a different increase.
That’s based on what water delivery would cost now, if the city had increased it every year from the last t would price hike in 2015.
That amounts to about a 40 percent increase this year, and a 3.1 percent increase in each of the next two years.
Council will vote on the changes at their open meeting next week.
