Body found after shed fire in Woodstock

One person has been found dead after a fire in a cemetery shed in Woodstock.

Firefighters were called to the Methodist Cemetery property around 6:30 a.m. Monday.

“Members of the Woodstock Fire Department attended the scene and successfully extinguished the blaze,” said a news release from the Woodstock Police Force.

“During the inspection of the structure after the fire, the body of one person was discovered, leading the Woodstock Police Force to initiate an investigation into a sudden death.”

Woodstock police are working with Coroner Services, the Fire Marshal’s Office, Woodstock Fire Department, RCMP K9, and the Fredericton Police Force to determine the source and cause of the fire.
