The Ontario Special Investigations Unit has cleared a Thunder Bay police officer in connection to an injury to a 17 year old girl.
The girl sustained a broken right forearm, but the SIU says there are no reasonable grounds to believe the officer committed a criminal offense.
Back on September 7th, officers arrested the girl for being in breach of her bail conditions.
She refused to stand or allow officers to put her hands behind her back to be handcuffed.
The SIU’s director Joseph Martino says it’s unclear if the girl’s injury happened prior to police arriving or after her arrest.
