SIU probes death of city woman

Ontario’s police watchdog has begun an investigation into the death of a woman early Saturday morning.

Initial details released by the Special Investigation’s Unit states around 2:00 a.m. December 30th, 2023 city police received a 911 call for a domestic disturbance at a Ray Boulevard home.

According to the SIU, officers did not attend the scene following that initial call.

A second call was made to 911 dispatch to “cancel” the domestic disturbance call for service, once again, officers did not respond to the scene.

Finally, a third call was made to 911, this time to report the woman was found deceased in the home.

This time officers did respond and confirmed the discovery of a deceased 21 year old woman.

An investigation team of three, which includes one forensic investigator, have been assigned to the case. With one subject official being designated at this time.
