Police look for witnesses after woman struck by vehicle

Saint John police are appealing for witnesses to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on the city’s east side.

Police say a grey Jeep Wrangler turning left onto Cindy Lee Street from Bonita Street struck a woman near the intersection around 6:43 p.m. on Dec. 26.

The 61-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and remains in the hospital.

Officers spoke with the driver of the Jeep at the scene and canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance while Forensic Services attended and processed the scene.

Detectives are still appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area who has dashcam or video footage of the incident.
