A 28-year-old Lower Sackville man is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday in relation to an assault.

RCMP were called to a Coles Road home on the weekend where it was reported a man had assaulted a woman, who is known to him, threatened her with a weapon and damaged property.

Police say he threatened responding officers and headbutted one in the face, resulting in minor injuries to that officer.

The accused has been charged with committing an assault by choking and uttering threats among other offenses and has been remanded into custody.
