Increases in N.B. gas prices this week

The Grinch stole Christmas for motorists.

The Energy and Utilities Board made its weekly price adjustments overnight on Thursday.

The maximum cost for regular self-serve increased as expected, by 3.0 cents a litre.

Diesel is also up 1.9 cents, and furnace oil rose by 2.0 cents.

New Brunswickers are now paying a maximum of $1.57 per litre for regular self-serve, $1.98 per litre for diesel, and $1.70 per litre for home heating oil.

In Nova Scotia, regular self-serve ranges from $1.54 to $1.58 per litre while diesel is selling for between $1.88 and $1.92 per litre.

On Prince Edward Island, the price for regular self-serve is around $1.56 per litre, diesel costs around $1.97 per litre, and home heating oil is selling for around $1.42 per litre.
