YMCA expands childcare services into Queens County

The YMCA of Southwest Nova Scotia opened their new Liverpool YMCA Childcare Centre this week, situated at 108 College Street in the heart of Liverpool.

“We are thrilled to become a part of your lives. Our heartfelt thanks go to the dedicated Queens Daycare Board of Directors for their years of service and for entrusting us with this new chapter,” stated Yvonne Smith, Chief Executive Officer.

The YMCA of Southwest NS is dedicated to delivering high-quality childcare services, emphasizing its commitment to community well-being. The childcare services in Queens County will remain non-profit, ensuring accessibility for families from all walks of life.

In a release announcing the facilities opening the YMCA provided information on the four pillars they plan to operate by.

  1. Affordability: Our primary goal is to make quality childcare accessible to all families in the community. Operating on a not-for-profit basis allows us to maintain reasonable costs, and we encourage families facing financial strain to reach out for support.
  2. Community Focus: As an integral part of the community, we will actively engage with parents, guardians, and local organizations to foster a supportive and nurturing environment for your children. Community involvement is central to our success.
  3. Quality Care: Our commitment to providing excellent childcare remains steadfast. We prioritize the safety, education, and well-being of every child. Our experienced staff, an integral part of licensed YMCA early learning childcare across Canada since 2007, is excited to meet and nurture your children. YMCA Playing to Learn™ aligns with all provincial early learning frameworks and is based on research highlighting play as the most effective way for children to learn and develop new skills.
