Kenora Rotary plays Santa to Wiigwas residents

By Tim Davidson Dec 20, 2023 | 5:23 PM

For the 8th year in a row, the Kenora Rotary Club has organized to the collection of gifts for the residents of Wiigwas Elder and Senior Care (formerly Birchwood).

Rotary says the gifts are all related to what a senior person would enjoy and find useful.

Some residents don’t have many visitors or gifts to open at Christmas time, and these gifts help to fill that void.

Rotarians, private citizens, and some local businesses contribute to this project, and Prelude Travel acts as the collection location for the gifts.

Lois Bailey, Executive Director says staff  are once again grateful for the generosity of the community.

“All residents will have a gift or two under the tree this Christmas and that warms our hearts. The home is decorated beautifully with thanks to the Programs team who keep our residents busy with activities throughout the Christmas season and all year long.”

Rotary says the photo only shows a portion of the donations collected.
