It’s going to be messy over the next few days.
Heavy rain is expected to continue all day today and not let up until tomorrow morning for eastern mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton.
More than 15 mm of rain per hour could fall in the heaviest downpours.
That’s when it gets worse…Environment Canada says the rain will start to turn to snow, as it does there will be a risk of freezing rain.
The forecaster says 10 to 15 cm is expected by the end of day Friday, with the heaviest snow expected Thursday night.
And it’s going to be windy, with gusts possibly reaching 90 km/h.
There is still some uncertainty with the track of this system, so Environment Canada says to monitor for alerts.
