Voting has begun on Healthcare Improvement Challenge submissions.

Since October, healthcare employees in Nova Scotia have submitted more than 2,200 ideas in the contest.

Eligible submissions will be entered into a random draw for up to 50 prizes of $1,000.

The Province says ideas were reviewed for cost and operational implications, the ability to implement them across the healthcare system, as well as the impact on patient care and experience, or facility and workflow.

Premier Tim Houston, in a release, thanked everyone who submitted ideas.

Houston said, “The number of ideas received shows there are many common-sense, low cost and easy to implement improvements that will make a difference in the lives of patients, families and those working in healthcare.”

The province and health-system partners will prioritize the top ten ideas and implement improvements where feasible.

Until January 8th, Nova Scotians can vote for their three favourite ideas from the list here.

Results will be announced at the end of January.
