Christmas food boxes to be delivered today

By Tara Clow Dec 20, 2023 | 8:25 AM

It’s Christmas box delivery day!

Volunteers are needed at the Moncton Coliseum on Wednesday.

There are 1700 boxes containing food for the holiday season.

They were put together using donations from the 30 Days of Caring Campaign run by the Peter McKee Community Food Centre.

There’s $80 worth of food in each box, including a turkey or ham, potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, and a few sweet treats.

If you want to help, just show up at the Coliseum on Wednesday between 9 am and 5 pm with your vehicle to make a delivery to those who need it.

The manager of the Peter McKee Community Centre Christine Taylor says donations are accepted all year round, “Things like Halal foods, gluten-free products, baby foods, baby formula, hygiene products and personal care products.  Things like cereal are an easy meal prep for kids and seniors.”

She says you can also pick up things like produce, eggs, or milk and drop them off while the centre is open.
