Members of the Thunder Bay Police Services Board - Acadia Broadcasting File

City council has approved the contract negotiated between Thunder Bay Police Services Board and the municipality of Oliver Paipoonge to continue providing police services.

The term of the new contract is for five years and the agreement comes with the previous contract set to expire at the end of the month.

The Oliver Paipoonge Municipal Council approved the contract at its November 14 council meeting. The final hurdle was receiving approval from the Thunder Bay City Council.

The Thunder Bay Police Services Board recommended that the contract be signed at the November 21, 2023, board meeting.
