Fellowship Center receives much needed donation

By Tim Davidson Dec 18, 2023 | 3:27 PM

The Fellowship Center in Kenora is still going strong despite staff shortages.

Yvonne Bearbull is executive director and says they plan to be open right through the holidays.

“We still open everyday…we still open at 8 o’clock and close at 4 o’clock and we plan to be open right through the holidays,” says Bearbull.

“We haven’t closed out doors for decades.”

Bearbull adds that the timing of the donation is great as when it starts to get cool the busier the Fellowship Center gets.

“We’ve been serving between 80 to 100 people and sometimes over 100 a day for breakfast, lunch and our coffee corner.  It’s just been a very hectic, challenging time.”

The Fellowship Center was on the receiving end of their annual donation from the forest management company Miisun for three thousand dollars.
