Two people were assaulted at a constituency office in Halifax.
According to a Facebook post by MLA Brendan McGuire, a man came into their office in Herring Cove, grabbed his assistant by the throat and slammed her against a wall.
He then proceeded to make racist remarks about a student in their office.
McGuire says the two locked themselves in a closet while the suspect destroyed the office.
Police say it happened around 12:10pm yesterday.
While on scene, police received a second report where the man had damaged property at the Captain William Spry Community Centre.
The suspect has been identified and investigators are trying to locate and arrest him.
