The Saint John Newcomers Centre (SJNC) has announced a new campaign to show support for newcomers to the Greater Saint John area.

The “You Belong Here” campaign aims to emphasize the importance of belonging and inclusivity, with the message: “the sense of belonging provides us with a purpose and meaning, fostering a supportive environment where individuals feel valued and accepted.”

“As we embark on this year-long journey of community and wellbeing, let’s celebrate the strength in our unity, embrace the beauty of diversity, and foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels they belong,” said Mohamed Bagha, managing director of the Saint John Newcomers Centre.

SJNC hosted an event that served an opportunity to express gratitude to community partners for their invaluable support.

The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) donated $7,500 to the Centre.

“We are proud to support the Saint John Newcomers Centre and contribute to their mission of fostering a supportive environment for newcomers in our community,” said Tanvir Ahmed, local branch manager of RBC.

The Saint John Newcomers Centre was founded in 2009 and has been a pillar of support for newcomers in the community.

Services include settlement support, orientation sessions, language conversation groups, and social events. The Centre’s mandate is to improve the cultural, social, and economic well-being of the Saint John region through supporting newcomer settlement and integration.
