The Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team skated to a 4-1 win over the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints from Kenora Tuesday night at the 52 Canadians Rink in Fort Frances.

It is the Muskies third straight win in NorWOSSA play this season.

Their previous wins came against the Sioux North Warriors.

The Muskies opened up with a 2-0 lead heading into the final period, with Bella Fry scoring the game’s first goal and Saylor Easton scoring early in the second.

An unassisted marker by Courtney McCoy put the home side up 3-0 before the Saints countered with a marker from Sophie Muise five minutes later.

Marlee Bliss round out the scoring for the Muskies with 10 seconds remaining in the game.

The Muskies’ next league game is this Friday on home ice against the Dryden Eagles.

The Saints are home to Sioux North on Monday.

In boys hockey, the Muskies lost to the Lake of the Woods Bears from Baudette 6-4.
