Scotian Shores holding clean-ups in Digby, Barrington

By Kevin Northup Dec 12, 2023 | 10:59 AM

A pair of shoreline clean-ups are coming to the Tri-Counties.

Scotian Shores will hold a clean-up of Bear Cove, Digby County on Saturday, and Crow’s Neck Beach in Barrington on Sunday.

Organizer Angela Riley says they’re looking for volunteers.

“That’s why we do such good work, because of all the people that come out and help us and volunteer their time. They want to see Nova Scotia’s shorelines cleaner,” said Riley.

Gloves and bags will be provided.

Riley says Scotian Shores have removed over a half-million pounds of trash from shorelines this year.

“2023 has been great for us. Our volunteers and our staff continue to work year-round, because it’s just going to keep coming.”

Saturday’s clean-up is from noon to 4 p.m. and Sunday’s in Barrington goes from 1 p.m-4 p.m.
