Two Thunder Bay residents face child pornography charges following two unrelated Cyber Crime Unit investigations.
Arrest 1:
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Cyber Crime Unit began an investigation into the suspected possession of child pornography by a resident on August 23, 2023
Investigators determined the files were consistent with child pornography, and through their investigation identified a local suspect and address.
A search warrant was executed at a residential address on Mountdale Avenue on November 29.
Police seized several electronic devices during the search.
Files located on some of the devices seized were believed to be consistent with child pornography.
The accused was arrested and taken into custody on December 8
The suspect a 73-year-old from Thunder Bay, has been charged with possession of child pornography and accessing any child pornography
They appeared in bail court and were released with conditions and a future court date.
Arrest 2:

Investigators determined the files were consistent with child pornography, and through their investigation identified a local suspect and address.
A search warrant was executed at a residential address in the 1800 block of Murray Avenue on December 7.
Police seized several electronic devices during the search.
Files located on some of the devices seized were believed to be consistent with child pornography as well as other intimate images of an adult female.
The accused turned himself into the police and was taken into custody on December 8.
The suspect a 33-year-old from Thunder Bay, has been charged with voyeurism, possession of child pornography, accessing any child pornography, and importing, distributing, Selling or possession for the purpose of distribution or sale of child pornography
The suspect appeared in bail court this morning and was released with conditions and a future court date.
