The Halifax Mooseheads want to help the homeless.

The team is switching from teddy bear’s to toques for their annual toss night.

Friday at Scotiabank Centre, if you’re coming to the game, bring a toque to throw onto the ice when the Mooseheads score their first goal.

The team says there is a declining need for teddy bears from local charities.

They say this will help those experiencing homelessness.

The Mooseheads take on the Gatineau Olympiques.

Halifax defeated Drummondville 4-3 Thursday night on home ice, thanks to a Markus Vidicek hat-trick.
