Charges laid in connection with home invasion and kidnapping

Two men are facing charges following a home invasion and kidnapping in Moncton.

On November 19th, RCMP say two armed men and a woman forced their way into a High Street home by kicking in a door.

A resident was then forced into a vehicle, but luckily, they managed to escape the vehicle while it was moving.  One other individual who was at the residence at the time sustained minor injuries during the home invasion.

Police located a vehicle ten days later on Parker Street in Scoudouc.

After a search, police seized a number of unsafely stored firearms, ammunition, clothing, a stolen trailer, and other weapons.

Three men and two women were arrested in connection with the incident.

A man from Burnaby, BC and another from Scoudouc, New Brunswick man are facing charges including:

  • Breaking and entering into a residence while knowing the residence was occupied
  • Kidnapping with intent
  • Assault
  • Using a firearm while committing the offence of kidnapping
  • Being an occupant of a vehicle while knowing there is a firearm in the vehicle
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Failure to comply with conditions of a release order

They’ll return to court on December 18th.

Members of the British Columbia RCMP also assisted with the investigation.

A 51-year-old man, 35-year-old woman, and the 48-year-old woman were released pending future court appearances.
