An increase in need for the Salvation Army.
Front-line staff are reporting the number of those needing assistance through the ‘Kettle Campaign’ is up over last year.
Major Jamie Locke says they want to be able to fulfill all requests.
“We’re seeing such an increase in need, that our programs and services are really struggling to keep up,” said Major Locke.
He says they raised $2.5 million last year in Nova Scotia, and hope to hit that mark again.
Major Locke notes that donations to the Salvation Army help people in your community.
“We’re seeing tremendous support from Nova Scotians. People are so generous, and when we see people struggling to put food on the table, it speaks to all of us. We recognize that tomorrow, it could be us that experiences this. No one is out of reach of that.”
He says the Salvation Army helps impact and transform lives.
It's #Christmas time! Let's spread cheer to those who need it most. Your donation to The Salvation Army today will be doubled to go twice as far.
