Police look for information after alleged road rage incident

Saint John Police want to hear from witnesses of an alleged road rage incident.

A speeding older model blue Dodge Caravan was reportedly spotted at around 12:16 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was seen on Route 1 between the north end Chesley Drive on-ramp and the Fairville Boulevard exit.

Police say the driver was being reckless and cutting off other vehicles.

After an almost collision with a gold Aveo, the driver of the van allegedly stopped and approached with a weapon.

The 35-year-old driver was then struck by the Aveo, and taken to hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries before being released.

He was issued appearance notices for criminal mischief and operating a vehicle upon a highway without due care and without reasonable consideration for others under the Motor Vehicle Act of New Brunswick, and is scheduled to appear in court on February 27, 2024.

Investigators are hoping there were witnesses or someone with a dash-cam of the incident at the time it occurred.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Saint John Police Force at 1-506-648-3333, or if you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
