Three people are facing firearms charges after an incident in downtown Halifax over the weekend.
Police say it was Saturday, around 8:30am when they responded to a report of an impaired driver on Barrington Street.
The suspect vehicle pulled into a parking lot with two flat tires and the emergency equipment on.
The two male passengers, police say, had entered a nearby store and had a firearm.
Police then seized the firearm and ammunition.
A 21-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man and a 23-year-old man are all scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of:
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a firearm without a license
- Unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm in a vehicle
The 20-year-old man is also facing charges of possession of a firearm contrary to a court order.
The 21-year-old woman is also facing charges of impaired operation of a conveyance by drug.
